8.01 As used in this chapter, money market fund ratings refer to fund assessments expressed in the form of opinions issued by Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organizations (NRSROs), or their equivalents, that are represented by means of rating symbols such as Aaa-mf, AAAm, or AAAmmf.2 NRSRO ratings assigned by rating agencies apply to money market funds or funds that, on the basis of their investment objective, seek to preserve principal, maintain liquidity, and, within these parameters, maximize income.
