- Foreign arbitral awards — Common law recognition — Enforcing foreign judgment debts
A foreign arbitral award is on a similar footing to a foreign judgment in that it may be enforced in England in a variety of ways. An action may be brought at common law to recover the sum awarded. Statutory provision is also made for the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards. Before looking at the various methods of enforcement in detail one general point should be made.
