As this Chapter explains, the UNCITRAL Rules require parties to provide notices, notifications, communications and proposals to each other at various stages in the arbitral proceedings within specified periods of time. Article 2(1) establishes when such notices are deemed to have been received. Article 2(2) specifies how to calculate the periods of time established under the Rules after receipt of notice.
