4.01 This chapter compares Chapters III (transfer of intermediated securities) and V (special provisions in relation to collateral transactions) of the Geneva Securities Convention (GSC) with the relevant parts of the United Nations Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade (CARIT)1 and the UNCITRAL Legislative Guide on Secured Transactions (LGST).2 The reason for this comparison lies in the fact that the GSC refers a number of issues to the law of a Contracting State other than the GSC (see paragraph 4.06).
