2.01 The reform of group procedures for damages actions is a topical one with developments at both European and Member State level. The purpose of this chapter is to compare and contrast the position in a number of European countries and to assess the role of the European Union in both promoting reforms at a supranational level and also indirectly fostering developments in Member States.
