This chapter explains Article 16 of the Rome I Regulation, which specifies the law that governs ‘the right to claim recourse’ between co-debtors to ‘the same claim’. This right arises where one co-debtor has satisfied the original creditor's claim (in whole or in part) and now seeks to recover some or all of their payment from their co-debtors.
