36.01 The payment of the purchase price in all legal systems is the reciprocal counterpart of the seller’s obligation to deliver the goods and transfer title.1 In many legal systems this obligation typically involves the exchanging of goods for money.2 However, taken in the abstract the obligation to make payment itself should not be so limited.
