This chapter focuses on uniform laws and projects. English law was the common language of international trade for a long time. Legal development led to the creation of international instruments establishing the framework for international trade. The three international instruments are international conventions, uniform projects, and sets of rules on uniform trade practice. Additionally, the instruments address aspects of sales transactions beyond the relationship of buyer and seller in the fields of transportation and payment. The limitation of international sales law was covered at the 1974 United Nations Convention. The chapter also mentions how all uniform projects contain rules on the most important issues of validity.
