This volume contains revised, updated, and enhanced versions of papers delivered during the inaugural International Shipping Law Roundtable on arbitration of shipping disputes organized by Centre of Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London. The collective sentiment has been that there has been rather limited academic discourse of issues relating to the current development of shipping law and the role of arbitration. This has been an excellent opportunity to bring together leading scholars and practitioners from around the world to debate and test ideas in the presentations, which formed the basis of the contributions contained in this volume. An overview of the subsequent chapters is presented.
