This chapter discusses Arts 4-6 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on Jurisdiction and the Recognition and Enforcement of Judgments (Recast), which represent the cornerstones of the Brussels jurisdictional regime. The function of Art 4 is twofold: first, it establishes the general rule for the territorial application of the jurisdiction chapter of the Brussels I regime and second, it establishes the general rule for jurisdiction.
