Remedies for Torts, Breach of Contract, and Equitable Wrongs (4th Edition)

Andrew Burrows QC FBA

Now in its fourth edition, this popular text has been comprehensively rewritten to take account of all new developments in relation to remedies for torts, breach of contract, and equitable wrongs. This includes scores of new cases and new academic analysis. The many remedies looked at include damages, the award of an agreed sum, injunctions, specific performance, equitable compensation, an account or profits, and declarations. The book is divided into parts which correspond to the primary functions of the remedies, namely compensation, restitution and punishment, compelling performance or preventing (or compelling the undoing of) a wrong, and declaring rights. Within each part, the particular remedy or remedies for torts and breach of contract concerned to effect those functions are examined in detail. The final part applies the same approach to remedies for equitable wrongs.
